350th Anniversary - DiOSG
This year marks the 350th anniversary of the first apparition of the Sacred Heart to the young French nun, St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, who belonged to the Order of the Visitation of Our Lady.
St. Margaret Mary reported a series of visions and apparitions of Jesus Christ between 1673 and 1675. During these encounters, Jesus revealed His Sacred Heart to her and conveyed His desire for devotion to His Sacred Heart.
The apparitions emphasized the love and compassion of Jesus for humanity. The image of the Sacred Heart symbolizes the love, mercy, and compassion of Christ for all people. He has a living, beating heart right now. His heart pours out love and grace you, and all people.
